Christmas Baking Pt.2
Here are a few more of my favorite recipes, that I seem to use more around the holidays….I should make them more often!!
One of the things I remember from childhood was my grandmother making cinnamon rolls. They were delicious and she always put them in a bread sack…not sure why I remember the bread sack. I never imagined I’d be making cinnamon rolls someday. I don’t put them in bread sacks, but I do go to the dollar store, they have aluminum tins with lids that are perfect. I’m not going to post the recipe, but you can go to my favorite food bloggers website and get the info. But here is a delicious picture to get your mouth watering:
Up next is a recipe for chocolate chip cookies. I really can’t tell you where I got this. It’s scribbled on a piece of grocery list paper and doesn’t even have what temperature the oven is set on. I just made these today and they came out perfect.
- 2 sticks softened butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp.baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- chocolate chips…or this time I used M&M’s
Cream butter and sugars with mixer. Add in eggs and vanilla and mix. Add in flour, salt, powder, soda and mix well. Add in chocolate chips or M&M’s or both. Bake 375 degrees for 12 minutes.
Is that chocolate chip cookie recipe THE chocolate chip recipe????
Noo, it’s not the THE recipe. That recipe is on the back of the butter crisco can. Just wasn’t too excited about eating butter flavored lard anymore….these are good though!
